Let me preface this post: I was not always planning on today's FAB Friday to be geared at GBD- however, I happened to go here and had the most amazing food that I couldn't resist placing this in the FAB Friday series.

Located on Connecticut Ave near Dupont, GBD (which stands for Golden, Brown, Delicious) is a casual restaurant that specializes in fried chicken and donuts that will make you forget about the similar chicken and waffles concept from any other DC dining establishment. I'm serious- its THAT good. I honestly can't remember the last time I had fried chicken this good and the biscuits taste like heaven on earth.

While the food menu is small, its perfect as it focuses on the chicken and has a variety of sides and dipping sauces (hello, Mumbo sauce!!). So what else could you ask for? Oh wait, you could ask for donuts. And you totally should. The donut menu varies by day, and while I only tasted one they all looked and smelled amazing. Drinks? Yep, they have those too- and lots of them, ranging from upscale craft beers to wine to specialty punches. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night, GBD is a MUST do if you are in DC craving fried chicken and donuts. Also check out their Happy Hour for cheap drink and food specials!
